Dementia Awareness Month May 2026 Charlottesville Proclamation

On May 18, 2026, the Charlottesville City Council proclaimed May 2026 as Dementia Awareness Month and also recognized Charlottesville as a Dementia Friendly Community.  The proclamation urges all residents to participate in education and awareness programs, to support research and innovation, and to share supports and services such as the 1-800-DEMENTIA hotline for taking care of oneself or others.
